Lovely building well maintained
Magnificent hotel, high-quality rooms in a truly magnificent building. A wonderful welcome from the entire team, it's a real pleasure.
Fabulous place! So convenient. Scrupulously clean. Comfortable beds and great shower with hot water. Plenty of hangers in the wardrobe. Extra electric heater in room if it gets cold. Splendid breakfast in the elegant dining room.

Lovely hotel. We enjoyed the breakfast but felt it was overpriced for a simple cold buffet. Other than that, everything was great
A beautiful residence with a lovely patio. The welcome was friendly, the room was very clean and quiet. Breakfast is served in a beautiful dining room (ample and varied). The hotel is located in the center of Montreuil.
Babycot could use a matras and sheet. The bottom that comes with the travel cot is way too hard for a child to lay on. Therefor we could not use it.
Breakfast was disappointing; juices were not fresh, coffee from a can is not what we expected.

Well-located hotel, friendly staff, clean rooms. We were on the ground floor overlooking the courtyard, which gave us a private terrace with a table and chairs right in front of our room. The shower stall had only a rather poor curtain, so the entire bathroom gets soaked, and you have to step on a soggy bath mat/towel. The courtyard could use a gardener (brambles with thorns are strewn across the ground, so it's best not to go barefoot if you want to have a drink on the terrace in front of your room). Breakfast was disappointing. We would still recommend the hotel, but for breakfast, there are better options nearby.
Good location, very pleasant staff, very clean, spacious bedrooms,
My only comment would be that we did not have milk for tea/coffe plus only one teabag for 2 people for a 2 night stay. Also there was a fan that didn’t work - it was hot- and we were told it would be looked at but nobody came. Overall though, we loved the hotel and location and would definitely stay again.

Excellent address: very high-quality and discreet accommodation in the beautiful town of Montreuil. Highly recommended.
We realised on arrival that our room was on the 2nd floor and there was no lift. This was not good news for my 83 year old mother but the staff were very kind and found us an alternative room on the ground floor. All the staff were friendly, helpful and efficient throughout our stay. Parking is a bit of an issue as the 2 nearest small car parks were often full But there is a big car park 7 mins walk away.
We had room no1 in a cute little cottage by the entrance. Not big and fairly basic but had everything we needed and most importantly a comfortable bed and pillows. Unfortunately the shower floor was very slippery. The main hotel is beautifully decorated and the outdoor spaces lovely with comfortable chairs to sit and read. Breakfast was a little underwhelming for 13 euros - mini croissants, yogurts, fruit and the only cooked thing was a boiled egg. But fine for us to start the day. The hotel is close to a little square with 2 or 3 restaurants and there are many more a few minutes walk away. Montreuil is a delightful little town. Would recommend both the hotel and the town/area.
This is a lovely period building and has been pleasantly converted into a hotel. There is one drawback in the rooms which relate to a lack of easy ventilation. The large windows do not make it easy to have natural ventilation at night. Then, having windows locked closed and using fans is not pleasant.
We would rate the Hotel Loysel le Gaucher as very good. We found it comfortable and well appointed. The building is elegant and in a quiet location yet within a few minutes walk of the town centre. and city ramparts. There is free, adjacent on-street parking. The staff were charming and helpful. We have visited Montreuil many times over the years and this is the first time we have stayed at Hotel Loysel le Gaucher - will certainly stay there again and are very happy to recommend it to other travellers.
Room is nice, bathroom nicely done, but customer service is TERRIBLE. We had pre-agreed via email early arrival and working from lounge - at actual arrival, answer was "no". Had pre-requested 2nd chair - at arrival answer was "no". requested a small pack of freezer elements to go into freezer - answer was "no". On all occasions, eventually it was possible but grumpy staff, and really stingy. Had to request more shower gel, because bottle was pretty much empty upon arrival. Tea&coffee not refilled. Montreuil has plenty of other nice hotels which know how to do customer service, so why come here???
Romantic, charme hotel with nice garden

Very nice hotel. The common areas are beautifully decorated and very chic. I do have one reservation, however, about the ground floor rooms, which are very dark, and our bed on the first floor, which was a bit like a trampoline and sagged in the middle. It's a shame because it affects sleep, and unfortunately, we tend to only remember that, even though the hotel is very beautiful and well located. For the price of breakfast, I would have also liked something savory.
We stayed two nights. Our room was not cleaned, bed unmade, no refreshing of water, toilet paper etc. There was no safe, milk tabs for the Nespresso, no bottle or wine opener, no fridge. We had to book our breakfast in advance. The cost was excessive, €16 was for a boiled egg, some pastries and yoghurt and coffee. There was only one person serving, a very nice man but the hotel looked understaffed and this man was extremely busy sorting breakfast requests to refill coffee urns, milk, juice. There was an espresso machine where he heated milk but this was not used to offer coffee. We asked and after checking with the management we were provided with a cappuccino. Another couple, when seeing we were being served drinks from the espresso machine, also asked but their request was denied. It seems the hotel wants to be seen as a quality 3 star and could be so, but they seem to ration resources to the point where you are afraid to ask them for anything you should be receiving automatically. There was very little hot water to be had in the shower, probably because we were on the 2nd floor.

Room 6. Very poor attention to detail. Room never replenished with tea, coffee or toilet paper! Wet towels never replaced, but left over glass shower door as there are no towel rails or hooks, so became smelly ater three days. No milk, water or chocolates in room during stay, as advertised. We asked for milk but apparently none available, so we bought milk at a local supermarket. The sink plug did not work, so sink did not hold water. The toilet seat was loose. All in all, disappointed.

Breakfast very basic and overpriced. Rooms clean and comfortable but I expected the coffee and tea to be replenished on a daily basis which didn't happen. Not easy for the satnav to locate
A beautiful hotel at a wonderful price
Great hotel, lovely town. Only downside no bracket for shower head so could not have stand up shower, and also very busy in the town when we arrived on Saturday, took us 15 minutes of driving around to find on street parking. Overall though great find and fantastic value for money.

Nice and warm welcome. CLean, quiet charming room with separate toilet and bathroom. Steap stairs to the room. Breakfast was good. A little bit noisy perhaps due to the steamer to make hot chocolade.

Just a slight disappointment with the breakfast which is not up to the standard of the hotel. It's a shame. The products offered are of lower quality.
Magnificent 18th-century mansion, carefully restored and adding just the right touch of modernity. It's a shame that the service doesn't live up to the setting: few toiletries (just a box of 3 tissues and a bath cap), only 2 coffee capsules, 2 tea bags, and 2 bottles of water for 2 nights... frankly stingy for a 3-star hotel! In addition, in terms of amenities, it lacks a refrigerator. It should be noted that the bedding is of good quality. Finally, it's a shame that the window frames have been renovated to single glazing, which means that the rooms overlooking the cobbled streets are very noisy.
Tricky to find it but lovely once we were inside. Appeared to have been recently refurbished - very tastefully. We had a simple room and were very comfortable for our one night stay.

Wonderful hotel, did their very best to fulfill our needs. Very happy and friendly staff. Parking is free across the whole town, including the street of the hotel. The whole town is walkable, and full of friendly faces. Very cosy room, in a beautiful building. :)
Very good hotel, well located, very pleasant and quiet.
A beautiful spacious room, in a pretty house, unfortunately the breakfast which is for me an important moment during the holidays, is not at all up to standard, several formulas to choose from, I opted for the one in the middle with the pastries (three frozen and poorly cooked mignardises, ditto for the bread) all served at the table, in small quantities, really disappointing for the price, to finish we had asked for breakfast for 8 a.m., we were late, we went down at 8:20 a.m. fortunately, nothing was ready, we had to wait for the preparation, my opinion is not bad, it is an observation, given the house I find it a shame!
It was a pity that there was a misunderstanding at the reception. But everything was neatly resolved and when we got to the room it was really beautiful in terms of style and comfort!

Fabulous hotel and very friendly manager. Had not checked if dogs could be accommodated. Our fault but as there was no parking on the premises, spent anxious night worrying about them in car overnight.

The hotel is beautiful, in a classic courtyard setting and we were immediately made to feel welcome.
Unfortunately the bar was closed in the evening as it looked a perfect venue for early evening drinks.
The room was comfortable and warm.
Breakfast was disappointing : no croissants and Special K as cereal.
Very good overall with welcoming staff. But it was very cold when we visited and had only just re-opened after a January break and the central heating was not working. However an electric radiator made the room nice and warm but was not aesthetically pleasing. It was a bit inconvenient having the toilet and shower with hand wash basin separate to each other.
