Meets expectations and description

A charming, clean, and comfortable hotel, very close to the city center. The only drawback is the lack of soundproofing, both inside and out, which can be bothersome during peak season if the window is open.

Very pleasant hotel. Beautiful park, quiet room overlooking the park, comfortable, spacious, modern and well-equipped. Close to the city center, parking. Restaurants nearby. Excellent value for money.

Old-fashioned style hotel, although there were a few things that could be improved, I was very satisfied. The peace and quiet was really appreciated. The breakfast was perfect. I would definitely come back.

Really lovely, typical French hotel.

Quick access, 7 km from the A6. On a business trip, I stayed 2 nights. Large free parking. Access to the room via an elevator. The window overlooked a wood. It was hot, but thanks to the air conditioning, I was able to sleep very well. The bedding was very comfortable. The desk was large enough to work at. The bathroom was small, but the shower was a decent size. The room as a whole could use a lick of paint, but was comfortable.

We appreciated the hotel's location, the size of the room, the renovated bathroom, the quietness, and the garden view. The room decor should be updated and the lighting revised. The beds are comfortable.

Noisy and dirty hotel

Hotel was very traditional and well appointed. The room was large by modern day standards and was quiet and the bed extremely comfortable. It had air conditioning. A feature was the extensive grounds to be able to walk around. Ample parking on site. No restaurant but plenty a short walk away.

A welcome break in a relaxing setting with the old-fashioned charm of the 70s and 80s. Very clean, with all the amenities and a full, fresh breakfast. Thank you for your welcome.

The first thing I would say. The receptionist did not speak much English. Also I thought the breakfast was included in the price. think this should be more obvious when booking in. I would not have eaten breakfast every morning I would have gone out sometimes. The hotel was very clean and situated really well to access the town . The breakfast was a high standard of continental style. The lady in attendance was really efficient and very friendly keeping the breakfast room cleared and well filled. The beds were comfortable and well maintained clean towels every day and beds made and room tidied. It would be good to have bottels of water in the rooms I would definitely reccommend the hotel

The temperature outside was above 30 degrees. Whilst the room had air conditioning it was not cold enough. My partner explained to the proprietor, unfortunately he did not speak English. Eventually he came up to the room to check, he seemed to think it was all ok and we needed to give it time. When my partner touched the control fixed to the wall, the proprietor became very agigated and told my partner off in French and pointing to the remote control. Extremely poor customer service.
The bed was comfortable but the pillows were lumpy and we had sheets and a blanket, something I've not seen in years.

I didn't like not being able to open the window...I would have liked to enjoy the garden air! And the air conditioning wasn't great. But overall we were satisfied with the room and the cleanliness. We had an appointment and had to leave before 7am...too bad, the breakfast smelled good but it was impossible to eat.

The room smelled badly of staled cigarette smoke. It was hard to breathe even with the windows opened overnight.
The blankets were too old and worn out. They were covered with sheets rather than with douvet covers. That was very unhygienic, as you never know how many people used the blankets before us.
It was difficult to open the room door. It created a lot of noise what definitely disturbed the neighbours in the night.

Perfectly comfortable, quiet, beautiful room, all within a quarter of an hour's walk of the collegiate church for a wedding, it's perfect. I recommend it, you can park in the hotel, it's great.

From Belgium to Auvergne or vice versa, we've stayed at the Cit'Hôtel Avallon Vauban several times, and it's always been perfect! A pleasant and impeccable welcome. The room is always clean and tidy. A peaceful night! The breakfast was delicious and more than adequate.

For my 3 night motorcycle trip it was ideal. Secure parking. Breakfast was traditional and just fine especially at 10 euros. Some decaf coffee would have been be good. Super hot shower 🛀
The rooms were serviced each morning with fresh towels. Its not a 4 star place, but nether is the price. I really liked it there.

At arrival I was very supprised to find such an authentic hotel.
If you like authenticity, you should try this place.
The staff was very friendly and the breakfast offered the things I'm used too.

Very warm welcome (too rare these days), spacious room, decorated a little old-fashioned but it offers the general setting as well as the charm of the hotel. Extra breakfast with good products. Ample free parking. Hotel very close to the magnificent center of Avallon with its delicious restaurants and green spaces. Only downside, room suffers from humidity, difficult to open the windows because we were on the ground floor overlooking the hotel entrance and the busy street.

The managers are racist. I was very badly received, without really knowing why, they let their aggressive dog bite my dog and when I asked them to tekir it they told me that I shouldn't say those things. I was almost attacked because I sat near the windows, they had put my table at the other end in the dark corner while there were still tables near the windows. If you wonder why I say it's racist, it's because in the evening I had a drink at their bar and with a friend of theirs they openly criticized Arabs and Muslims next to me. They compared Portuguese and Arab immigrants, specifying that the former were okay because they were Christians. I won't set foot there again, that will be one less Arab, they will certainly be delighted.

This was the second Logis group hotel we stayed in on our recent trip to the Alps. We booked the hotels as we normally stay in Campaniles or Premier Classe hotels, and wanted a bit more from our overnight stops. Whilst the hotel was clean and friendly, and in a good location, we were disappointed by the lack of tea and coffee making facilities in our room, which you would get in a Campanile and a Premier Classe. Whilst this may seem a minor point, we were facing a long drive and leaving early in the morning, so no hot drink available.

Easy to find, nice garden, lift, friendly.
Blanket just a woolen one, very old and obviously unclean. Holes in the blankets. Wall-to-wall carpet old and outworn.

This Hôtel offers the same overall experience as one twice the price.

Nice hotel but the rooms have remained in the style of yesteryear. The cleanliness is satisfactory. The breakfast is excellent with quality food products and a good variety of sweet and savory. The absence of a courtesy tray is regrettable. The bathroom equipment with a bathtub without a shower screen no longer corresponds to current comfort for essential shower use. The parking in the indoor park is pleasant and secure.

Renovated, welcoming hotel, beautiful surroundings and rather calm. Hearty, varied breakfast, fresh and regional products, the only downside is the quality of the fruit juices offered.

Convenient hotel to reach the center of Avallon. Very nice typical structure even if it could use a refresh. Very friendly and helpful owners. Avoid the rooms on the ground floor because they are too humid, excellent instead the Studio solution inside the park especially if you have children.

The hotel sits in a lovely setting but is a little run down with regard to the rooms. Needs upgrading with walk in showers, softer and larger beds, new and better located electrical plug sockets and redecorating. Still, the hotel was good value as was the morning buffet and the lady running it was an absolute sweetheart.

The Breakfast was diverse and great!!

The hotel is located on the edge of the old town, is easy to reach and has a large car park that is locked at night. A large garden area allows you to drink a glass of wine (or several, depending on your constitution) outside on warm summer evenings. The breakfast is plentiful. The hotel does not have its own restaurant, but a list of restaurants in Avallon is available at reception.

We were made very welcome. The rooms were clean and pleasant despite their advanced age. The breakfast was good and varied! There was a pleasant wooded park with table and chairs to enjoy the peace and quiet! Overall we had a pleasant evening which allowed us to see Avallon in its inner transformation.

Onze kamer was eenvoudig en enigszins gedateerd. Ontbijt was goed de ontvangst vriendelijk en behulpzaam.
Naast de deur een goed restaurant.

Tout était parfait.
Grand parking privé et sécurisé. Chambre agréable avec petite table et chaise, bonne literie.
Salle de bain avec baignoire, ce qui devient rare. Petit dejeuner excellent et complet.

Bit of a shock having come from a four star hotel in Saumur.
Could have had a shower screen and plugs that worked. And more electrical outlets.

Very warm hotel, welcoming and smiling staff. I particularly liked the style of the hotel. When we arrived, the rooms were perfect. Maybe just put some extra pillows but otherwise, nothing to say.

I think what I prefer is breakfast time. But everything (quality of the bedding, decor of the room) suits me perfectly.

Room n°101, just above the pedestrian crossing which leads from the Parking to the city centre. Noisy passage when people walk there because it is heard from the room = disrupted sleep sometimes.
