Good ecperience and value for money
There was a very unpleasant smell in the room, mold on both sides of the windows, and the pillow was too firm. My previous stay was much more pleasant; I'm disappointed.
Overall, I had a good time at the hotel. I particularly appreciated the central location, the good value for money, the quality of the breakfast, and the cleanliness of the room. One drawback: the bathroom is very, very small and has no door; there was a bad sewer smell coming from the shower that permeated the entire room due to the lack of a door.
Perfect location close to shops and restaurants in a pedestrian zone. Excellent bedding, but the bathroom was too small and had mold on the grout, which wasn't pleasant. The breakfast was plentiful and varied.
The hotel is well located, but the room on the 4th floor is not what you'd expect from a 3-star hotel: - the sink is in the room and the shower is separate, but it feels more like the bathroom is part of the room (it's not a separate room), there was no soap in the sink dispenser, which wasn't refilled despite my request - the toilet is in a "cupboard," the door doesn't close, and the toilet paper dispenser is broken, so there's no privacy. On the other hand, the bed was comfortable. Tea and coffee are available at reception downstairs (instead of in the room).
The rooms are outdated. Ours was mediocre (perhaps due to booking through Hotels.com?). No bathroom! A toilet in a closet. A shower behind a curtain. And a tiny sink in the room between the bed and the shower curtain. I haven't seen anything like it since traveling in Southeast Asia in the 90s. Add to that the nonexistent or ugly decor, and it doesn't even qualify as a 2-star hotel.
Excellent, accommodation right in the city centre, friendly and pleasant welcome, comfortable bed, very good breakfast. It's a shame the hotel is a bit dated.

Very centrally located hotel, equipped with the basics for a pleasant stay. The staff is always available and friendly. Areas for improvement include soundproofing and the height of the toilet.

The hotel is very well located at the foot of Rue Sainte-Catherine, where you'll find many shops and excellent restaurants. The Garonne River and Place des Quinconces, where you can buy transport passes allowing you to use trams, buses, and boats, are very close by. The hotel has a partnership with a very convenient parking lot about 500 meters away, offering attractive rates. All the staff are very welcoming and pleasant. We felt very comfortable. The breakfasts were excellent, served in a lovely room. The bedding was very comfortable; it just lacked towel racks. If we return to Bordeaux, we will definitely stay at this hotel again!

A very decent hotel with a great advantage: right in the city center and, for those interested, close to the Bordeaux Opera House (5-minute walk).

Excellent value for money, right next to Galeries Lafayette and the shops on Rue Sainte-Catherine. It's a pedestrian zone, yet it's a bit noisy in the street in the evening.

Not really a 3-star hotel: strong sewer smells in the bathroom, dirty walls and poorly soundproofed room: cleaning from 9am on a Saturday morning, with furniture moved, difficult to sleep well… Positive point: rental right in the center of Bordeaux!

We arrived in a room with inadequate heating and no hot water. It was impossible to shower before dinner. Upon our return, we were moved to a lower category room, but one with heating and hot water. It's a shame we didn't check all of this before our arrival.

A comfortable hotel ideally located in the city center, near Rue Saint-Rémy and its many restaurants. The breakfast room has been renovated, but it lacks the charm of its predecessor; the decor is more neutral. The breakfast buffet offers a wide selection, but whole-wheat bread should be offered for those watching their diet. One minor technical detail: my room had a bathtub, but I couldn't figure out how to operate the faucet instead of the showerhead. The Wi-Fi worked very well, and my room had a large desk, which was a nice touch.

The hotel is right in the city center, on a pedestrian street, next to the Grand Theater and very close to everything. It's a small but cozy hotel with everything you need. The best part is the staff, who went out of their way to make our stay very pleasant and helped us with everything from the moment we arrived. Thank you so much. The hotel is very clean, comfortable and the staff are fantastic. Our room had a very efficient air-conditioner (much appreciated on hot days), drawers for clothing storage and plenty of shelf space. The beds were very comfortable and the pillows are the best we’ve ever had in Europe! The room was excellent and made for a comfortable stay, although no refrigerator. The hotel location is excellent. It’s worth noting the hotel is in a pedestrian area, and ride shares cannot drive you close to the hotel. Taxis can at certain times of the day. The breakfast was excellent and good value for money. The staff were very friendly and as helpful as possible. We highly recommend, and would definitely stay again.

The room was spacious, however I found the floor not extremely clean. There were damp/mold stains on the bathroom ceiling. The insulation in the room is really disappointing. We could hear everything going on in the street as well as in the corridors. I could hear people coming in and going to reception... I find it inconvenient to have to return the key every time you leave the hotel when you are staying there for several days.

An ideal hotel in the heart of Bordeaux. This hotel is perfectly located in the center of Bordeaux. The room was a single, not too spacious but sufficient. It was clean, the bed was comfortable, and it had air conditioning. The only drawback I found was that the water pressure in the sink faucet was very poor.

The toilet door won't stay closed. The black shower curtain is a feature that should be removed from all hotels. The soundproofing could be improved; we were woken up by neighbors and the noise of people passing by in the hallway.

The hotel is in an unbeatable location with everything you need, clean and welcoming. The staff is always attentive.
I would rate this review higher but I feel as if I did not receive the room that I paid for when booking my stay. The bed was very comfortable and the room itself was fairly clean but I feel like what I was expecting when booking was not what I received based off the pictures that sold me on staying at this location.

Well-located hotel with good bedding. Breakfast was disastrous: there was only one slice of bread left at 9 a.m., and the scrambled eggs were so hard they were inedible. A word of advice: book a room and go elsewhere for breakfast; there are plenty of options in the area!

The parking reserved with the hotel is a real plus. The hotel is very well located. The only downside is that the toilet door is not great and the place is quite poorly soundproofed between the other rooms but perfect with the exterior.

A foul odor emanated from the drains. The staff offered to use bleach to reduce the odor. The product ended up on my belongings and my favorite skirt was discolored; it should be thrown in the trash. I'm not very happy about having this unpleasant odor during my stay and I'm very unhappy about my soiled skirt.

This small hotel is right in the middle of town close walking distance to fab shopping, cafés and restaurants. Beds were comfortable- everything was clean. Bathrooms are small but clean. Breakfast - continental style and very fresh nice quality. Helpful staff at reception.

We were disappointed by the cleanliness of the room. The walls are stained, even in the bathroom. The walls are crumbling. And to think we were upgraded... Disappointing. It's a shame because the style of the premium room is very tasteful.

Very close to Rue Sainte-Catherine, near Place Gambetta, the hotel is ideally located. The welcome is superb. The room is spotless, simple but perfectly appointed. The bedding is impeccable, the bathroom is quite spacious. There is plenty of space to store clothes and the contents of your bag. The presence of air conditioning is a real plus. The Wi-Fi connection is perfect throughout. A nice touch, too, with two bottles of water and a small chocolate. In short, I highly recommend this hotel to any traveler passing through Bordeaux.

The only downside to the stopover was the restaurant. I arrived 9 minutes late and the gentleman told me it was closed, no effort, nothing. I still think that's really not nice, knowing that I had paid. The next day I had no desire to go back so I didn't go. But the hotel staff were really very nice and pleasant.

A good reasonably priced city centre hotel.. very good location for attractions and transport connections.

The hotel was adequate, the staff were ALL very helpful & accommodating but the noise level for me was a nuisance & the view obviously disappointing due to the scaffolding.

Very well located, right in the city center. The staff is very pleasant and friendly. The rooms are good, just what you need. The bedding is very comfortable. The same goes for the pillows, which are very firm, which is rare. A small downside is the toilet, which is very close to the wall, which is not easy for tall people, but it's still a detail. The room is very clean. The partnership with the parking lot is also a plus.

Very well located hotel, right in the center
Vue sur un mur et donc assez sombre. Monté dans la douche dangereuse si mouillé. Monté sur la toilette ridicule.
Small and old hotel right in the center of Bordeaux. Nice staff, clean rooms but not very modern. Breakfast below expectation.
The musty smell in the bathroom is annoying and unpleasant.
The room is very poorly soundproofed; from 6:00 a.m. onward, you are woken up by the noise of the high-pressure cleaners from the road maintenance department. In addition, the bathroom is extremely small, almost inaccessible for the toilet.

Great Location, friendly staff. A bit disappointed we had spent more for a superior room, which should have had a balcony. Arrived and the room had already been taken. Also, the chest of drawers in the Superior Room were useless, you could not open them. The shower/bath water pressure really low. We felt a little ripped off for spending more, but not getting the benefit. My sister had a standard room, which was smaller but everything worked fine. In hindsight this would have been fine and we would have saved $250 on our stay. That being said, It was a perfect hotel for a 5 day break, just don’t go for the superior rooms.

Ideally located in the city center for a short stay in Bordeaux. Small room but reasonably priced. Very friendly staff and excellent service. Breakfast was also appreciated.

Great stay at the Hôtel de la Presse! The location is ideal, right in the center of Bordeaux, perfect for doing everything on foot. The hotel is open 24 hours a day, which is super convenient, and the luggage storage is really great for leaving your belongings in peace. Clean room, comfortable bed, and the breakfast is also very good, varied and plentiful. The staff is welcoming and helpful. I recommend it without hesitation!

The pluses: attentive welcome, good-sized and well-equipped room, ok bathroom, central location, very good bedding. The minuses: the exterior and interior soundproofing is really deficient: for example, opening the doors with a key can be heard very loudly from one room to another.

Aside from the charming staff, the quality of the accommodation was very disappointing. The rooms were dim (the windows overlooked the wall of the building opposite). In one room, the bathroom and toilet were in the same room as the bed. In the other, the shower didn't close, forcing you to contort yourself to avoid flooding the entire bathroom. Avoid!

Overall, a very satisfying experience! The hotel is pleasant and well-located. I particularly appreciated the key handover system at reception upon check-out, which was very convenient as it meant I didn't have to carry them around constantly. The staff were both welcoming and efficient, and the breakfast was excellent. The room I stayed in was perfectly suited for a solo stay, although perhaps a little cramped for two people. I would, however, recommend some minor renovations, particularly to the bathroom tiles, to maintain the overall comfort.
A very decent hotel, very well located in the center of Bordeaux, with a lift and very comfortable beds! It's a shame there isn't a curtain separating the bathroom from the rest of the room, opposite the toilet, for privacy, especially if the two people staying there are just friends...
