Looking for peace and quiet in nature, we found exactly what we were looking for. A timeless place nestled in the heart of the forest with breathtaking views, just a stone's throw from the Grand Ballon. You can admire nature in all its splendor (deer, foxes, raccoons...) and enjoy a restful night. A generous breakfast with high-quality products is provided. The manager is helpful and attentive afterwards. I highly recommend it.

A typical setting, deep in the forest, very peaceful, ideal for hikers. The pool, spa, sauna, and massage table are all excellent, plus there's a relaxation lounge with complimentary coffee and tea. Perhaps the pool shower could use a little updating (shower head).

Rustic hotel (but it matches the description and suits the location perfectly). Excellent location for hiking. The owner was very welcoming, professional, and pleasant.

Everything was in order for us, but unfortunately, the gentleman in charge of payments was very aggressive in his speech and the words he dictated to us. He hadn't initially checked properly that everything had been paid through the Booking.com website and was making us feel bad for not having paid for the second room! I wanted to show him my payment or the Booking.com confirmation, but he cut me off, saying, "I don't care about that!" The situation escalated very quickly. We arrived around 11:40 AM because we had the room until noon, and he refused to let us leave before checking Booking.com's online system. So, at 12:20 PM, when he was finally able to check Booking.com's system, they pointed out that everything was in order… I understand that mistakes happen and that one must be careful, but we were two adults with four children who waited 40 minutes in the car. Aggression and insinuations of theft or non-payment are inappropriate for this type of work, in my opinion. Customer service and communication are not the establishment's strong points. Okay, we received a bottle of apology upon our departure, but that doesn't give people the right to insult us. So no, I do not recommend this establishment and will never return. The hotel is outdated, and there's no phone signal, which should be mentioned on the booking site. I've always been very well received in France. I think this elderly gentleman is doing his best, and I wish him good luck in the future because guests won't always be as calm and considerate as those he's encountered before. It's a shame we had to mention to the gentleman that we were going to call the police, after which he told us everything was fine. The situation was unhealthy; we didn't even try breakfast given the high starting prices, which didn't match the style of accommodation and services provided. 🤔😅🤨 Afterwards, it was a real change of scenery, thank you very much! ☺️😉

Excellent host, impeccable service!

A wonderful experience in a very peaceful setting with a superb welcome from the owner. A 5x10m swimming pool, a jacuzzi, a fitness room with various machines, a massage table with different programs, and a hammam are all included in the room price. A generous breakfast is available at different prices: €14 or €19 depending on your choice.

Pleasant stay in the middle of the native

Beautiful set (room, pool, sauna...) a little dated, but very clean and the location is incredible if you like hiking and want to get out into the countryside!

For a 4 star I expected it to be clean

A very pleasant stay in a quality establishment. Despite a late booking and arrival, we were very well received, were able to dine and even enjoy the pool. The location is splendid and peaceful. The establishment is perfectly maintained, and the manager and his team are friendly and attentive. Not to be missed if you are staying in this region.

Very good stay for a week. Quality family hotel. Swimming pool + spa and Jacuzzi are a +. Lots of things to do and discover in the area... Very quiet place, with a spacious room.

The hotel is very pleasant, even if old-fashioned; it takes us back in time, which has a certain charm. The place is quiet and the view is magnificent. It would have been perfect if the jacuzzi had been cleaner. I'm a fussy person.

Oui, bien, même si l’hôtel est vieux. Il reste traditionnel, au calme. Quand vous discutez avec le responsable de l’établissement, vous comprenez directement ses difficuletés. A côté de l’hôtel même se trouve un projet de chambres supplémentaires qui ne s’est pas concrètisé. Presque un gouffre financier....Tenir n’est pas facile par rapport aux groupes hôreliers où tout est pareil. J’ai fait mon choix et j’oublie. La litterie vous permettra de passer une bonne nuit et le déjeuner est bon.

Very nice family

Highlights; the place is incredible: a clearing in the forest, at an altitude of over 700m, at the end of a small forest road, with a magnificent view of the Petit Ballon. A haven of peace, without noise, without traffic.... The swimming pool is very good, although impacted by the problems mentioned later. The owner, a fairly elderly man, takes great care of you. Problem: it is a bit old and abandoned. The lack of staff or resources (or both) leads to serious shortcomings in terms of maintenance, cleanliness and service. Whether for the hotel or the restaurant, the quality/price ratio is not really satisfactory. Conclusion: The exceptional location, the tranquility, the large swimming pool and the dedication of Mr. Bisel, the owner, tip the scales in your favor. We spent a very pleasant week in this corner of paradise, where there are many walks to do, sites to visit, and where you can relax in complete peace.

A very nice hotel in the middle of nowhere. Very silent at night. Extremely friendly owner, good food and a very good breakfast. The house as such is a little bit older, with its charm. Things are maybe not top modern but everything worked well.
