EXCEPTIONAL ESTABLISHMENT, A VERY NICE EXPERIENCE

Magnifique hôtel et son restaurant, séjour impeccable à tous points de vue.

This hotel is closer to a 5-star than a 4-star, it's so close to perfection. The rooms are splendid and impeccably clean. The half-board dinner menu was delicious, and the breakfast was very complete and varied. All the staff are incredibly attentive (special mention to the restaurant staff on Sunday evening; they were all very helpful and friendly). The spa is a significant bonus and allowed us to relax after our day. We will definitely be back!

My stay at Les Bas-Rupts was perfect: the chalet is magnificent, the welcome warm and personalized, the hotel authentic yet refined (silverware, embroidered sheets, exquisite porcelain tableware…), every detail has been carefully considered and is charming, the restaurant is worthy of a fine dining establishment, the wine list is impressive, the breakfast is delicious and lavish, the rooms are very pretty and comfortable, and the spa is very pleasant after a day of skiing. The emphasis is on excellence and elegance. You feel right at home. As for Mr. Philippe, he commands admiration and is an inspiring man! Thank you all!

The communal lounge area was also very pleasant. The only slight drawback, and only for people very sensitive to noise like me, is that you can hear a little music from the restaurant from the room above, as well as the noise of some equipment, but it's nothing unbearable with earplugs.

The architecture and decor are absolutely delightful, brimming with authenticity and an exceptionally warm atmosphere. The staff is attentive and lovely at every level, without exception. The food is excellent. I will return one day in the summer... because the guide Alain from the mountain office promised me that I would see chamois then.

We stayed for one night. The hotel was welcoming, the staff friendly, the food delicious, and the spa rejuvenating. We'll be back, and we even found snow!

A perfect second stay, no surprises: a warm and cozy place, a drink by the magnificent fireplace, and very professional and attentive staff. The quality of the food and service in the restaurant, as well as at breakfast, was excellent.

We came to celebrate New Year’s Eve and had booked half board. The food on New Year’s Eve was good, but apart from that, everything was missing: no music, no atmosphere. It felt like an ordinary evening, just like any other.

By 11:30 pm, about 70% of the guests had already left the restaurant. The table next to us even started playing Spotify music on an iPhone just to create some atmosphere. At the beginning of the dinner, someone was quietly playing the piano, but the music was completely inappropriate for the occasion.

There was no complimentary drink, no welcome gesture — you were simply seated at your table. There was no countdown to the New Year, nothing at all. Nada. Nothing. Nichts. Niente. Truly disappointing.

Some simple suggestions:

Have someone at the entrance to welcome guests with a drink.

Organize a small aperitif before dinner.

Provide a well-dressed pianist who plays appropriate music during dinner.

Offer a drink around 11:45 pm and start proper New Year’s music.

Organize a countdown to the New Year, possibly at the bar for those who wish to join.

What a disappointment. Amateurish, unfortunately. Our evening — and that of other guests — started the New Year on a low note.

Everything was perfect

We got allocated a room above the kitchen. Noisy with food smells - insulation in room poor, we heard the guests above us at all hours, including their bathroom sounds.

Our family stay was perfect. This was my third stay in 20 years, and the hotel and restaurant are still top-notch. Two possible areas for improvement would be increasing the Wi-Fi bandwidth and adding variety to the restaurant menu. If you stay for several days, you end up with the same menu; a little more variety would be welcome. But that's just being picky, as we're food lovers. It's less of a concern for other people.

A superb family experience for Christmas. A wonderful welcome, attentive staff, and the hotel is as lovely as ever. The food was excellent, with a special mention for the fish.

An unforgettable short stay! Everything is refined: the wooden rooms are comfortable, the atmosphere is warm and cozy, the lounge with its fireplace invites relaxation, and the restaurant's cuisine is exquisite. There's a great deal of creativity: the scallops with their shellfish broth had an exquisite flavor... The warm Grand Marnier soufflé was perfect, as usual, and the menus are enticing. And let's not forget the beer-crusted rolls, crisp and delicious. Congratulations to the chefs! The entire staff is attentive to guests' needs and very friendly, which is increasingly rare these days, even in high-end hotels. Not a single flaw. One wish: to return soon with friends.

We had a wonderful stay at the Hôtellerie du Bas Rupt, a beautiful establishment with authentic charm, in a pure Vosges chalet style. The setting is warm and well-maintained, ideal for a relaxing break. The welcome was particularly attentive and personalized, which immediately put us at ease. We had booked a table at the restaurant and it was a delightful discovery: the cuisine is refined, flavorful, and perfectly executed; we enjoyed every bite. Special mention goes to the wine list, simply incredible, with a remarkable selection for wine lovers. The breakfast lives up to its reputation and confirms the many positive reviews: varied, generous, and of high quality—a must-try. One very minor drawback, however: the indoor pool was a little chilly, which somewhat diminished the enjoyment of the jacuzzi. Furthermore, the presence of nudists in the hammam and sauna surprised and disturbed us a little. Despite this, the overall experience remained excellent. A charming address that we highly recommend for its setting, its food and the quality of its welcome.

The welcome was friendly (they showed us around, and the staff were attentive). The room was comfortable. The food was excellent. The only downside was the small and dark relaxation area (sauna, hammam, pool, and jacuzzi).

This was our third time at Hotel Les Bas Rupts and we like the hotel very much. The total ambenience, the lovely and spacy rooms, the pool and sauna area, the high-end restaurtant, the tasty breakfast and not to forget the always friendly and professional staff. I almost don't dare to say but the bed/matrass in room 15 was not OK. I trust this weill be taken care of so we'll come back, definitely!

Several visits to this establishment and we always feel just as good there. Excellent cuisine in the restaurant, and even better to our taste even though the chef has changed since our previous stay in February 2024. We find more - but this is undoubtedly a very personal opinion - the spirit of the cuisine that Mr. Michel Philippe made. Excellent breads, pastries, mignardises, it seems that the head baker will be retiring soon...let's hope that the next one will do as well, and will perpetuate among other things the hot soufflé with Grand Marnier!

It's a beautiful establishment. Too bad, for the suitcases, we managed, no valet parking. On the other hand, we really appreciated the warmth of the establishment. The staff is great. The rooms are superb. The bedding is of a rare quality. The indoor pool and the services offered by Caroline. The beautician are very pleasant. The hammam area is very good. Everything is absolutely perfect in this establishment. We do have some regrets about the menu, however. Not that the prices are high, but it lacks a little refinement. It's still okay, we still have a good time, but there are things that could be improved. There are three charging stations for electric vehicles and the service costs €12, which is far from excessive. We had Room 24 in the flower garden. It was a little cold when we arrived and the Wi-Fi is unstable. We would have appreciated real sparkling mineral water rather than being provided with processed water, which is sold at a very high price. Despite this, we will return, because around Gérardmer it is certainly the best, price-performance ratio.

Reunion of this hotel after 20 years

A hotel that seduces with its excellence and that we can only recommend. If I could make a suggestion, it would be to replace the net curtains with pretty mountain-style curtains, which would bring even more charm to the rooms.

The hotel is good, nice room, comfortable bedding. As for the restaurant, nothing to complain about. On the other hand, the spa area is small and dated, sauna tiny, hammam and pool not hot enough. There are much better in the 4* category, too bad.

Very nice establishment, friendly welcome... Pleasant spa and swimming pool but space a little restricted if more crowded or with groups present. Quality gourmet restaurant and pleasant lounge/bar area for aperitifs or digestifs... small downside: lack of soundproofing in the rooms and unheated outdoor swimming pool... but this in no way affected the quality of our stay.

The quality of the welcome is an excellent start! A chalet on a human scale, generous space in the restaurant. We feel at home, especially since the service is discreet and efficient.

A hotel with a lovely charm and a pleasant atmosphere. The decor was something my partner and I greatly appreciated. The only slight drawback was that the indoor pool was a bit chilly. The restaurant is a gem that deserves to be better known and recognized. We ate exceptionally well and the experience was very enjoyable. For me, it was the best tripe I've ever had; even our little one loved it. We had a wonderful, albeit short, stay. We will most certainly return.

Given the welcome and the quality of services at this hotel/restaurant, we would have liked to stay longer, but traveling by motorbike, we had to choose the safety of returning because it was raining the next day. What can I say, as soon as you enter the establishment, you are greeted by smiling, friendly and attentive staff. The place is well located with the possibility of walks in the surrounding area. We dined on site, in a distinguished but not stuffy restaurant, where we tasted well-prepared dishes and spent a pleasant evening. We also enjoyed a massage session thanks to the kindness of our contact who gave us access to our room longer to be able to access this service. We will return to this establishment where the quality of the facilities and the welcome seduced us.

Considering the pricelevel my expectations were high. However I was a bit disappointed:
- trafficnoise because the hotel is located near a road
- the suite was relatively dark and we did not have attractive views
- the facilities, spa and swimmingpool are small
Positive was the friendly reception and interior of the restaurant

We had a "mountain side" room, with a large terrace, well decorated and very clean, some missing amenities despite everything: just a shower head with little pressure, no power outlet or USB to the desk, very weak Wi-Fi. The room and especially the terrace were quite noisy, next to the restaurant's VMC. The hotel is very beautiful, the wellness area pleasant with indoor and outdoor pools. The big downside is the prohibitive prices of the restaurant (coffee at €5!, the rest to match) and the breakfast which is not up to par for €25/person.

Very nice mountain style. The rooms had a very pleasant terrace. But the proximity of the busy road and the lack of air conditioning during the heatwave prevented us from sleeping and we cut our stay short. The hotel staff was very understanding and did not charge us for the canceled night even though it was due. Point to improve: the rooms were cleaned between 3 p.m. and 4 p.m., which is too late, it bothered us while we were trying to rest. Unheard of in a 4-star hotel. The food served in the restaurant was good but the prices are excessive. The restaurant is not starred and charges prices similar or even higher than those of a 1-star restaurant.

The whole stay was perfect, the only negative point was the heat in the room. Air conditioning would be great and there would be nothing more to complain about.

Considering the price of the rooms, it is regrettable that they are not air-conditioned (difficult to sleep with the window open given the noise from the road and neighbors as well as the hotel lighting) and that they are not better equipped in terms of multimedia (only access to the "old version" TNT channels). The breakfast offer could be larger considering the price of it. Too bad the swimming pool is cold in August!!!

I'll start with the negative aspects of our stay: Room 7 (thank you for the upgrade, it was very kind of you) is very noisy at night, making it difficult to sleep with the window open. This is due in part to the kitchen exhaust, but especially to the ventilation system above. Regarding the food, we were a little disappointed with the quality of some items, particularly the flavorless foie gras and the accompanying Pinot Gris. The fish (halibut) was overcooked. There was no proper Munster cheese on the platter, which was disappointing. Finally, the massage room is also very noisy, making it difficult to truly relax. On the positive side, your hotel is exceptional in its setting, ambiance, and design. The carpeting is magnificent. The materials, the dining rooms, the bar—everything is beautiful, and the desired cozy atmosphere is definitely there. The spa is also very good, despite being somewhat small. Finally, the service is very pleasant.
