Excellent séjour au domaine. Tout était parfait : accueil, chambre, repas, extérieur avec le parc et le petit étang où il ne manque qu'un banc romantique dans la petite île. A refaire.

The bed is uncomfortable; you sweat a lot. The sheet can't be tightened, resulting in poor comfort. I didn't sleep well at all. There's no shelf in the shower.

At Domaine de Valinches, you feel like you've stepped out of time, right in the heart of the Forez region, which I was discovering for the first time (I'm originally from Franche-Comté). The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming. A wonderful place I'll definitely return to!

Disappointed by the hotel service. We stayed two nights, but the beds weren't made, the trash wasn't emptied, and the towels weren't folded during our entire stay. We dined at the restaurant. The dining room is very basic. The tables and decor are very simple.

A very beautiful estate overall (castle, grounds, rooms) and spotlessly clean. The restaurant was good quality and offered generous portions, and the breakfast was superb with excellent products. I highly recommend this establishment.

A very pretty estate, it's a shame it was so cold when we arrived, 18 degrees Celsius in the room on December 29th, a bit chilly. Great welcome, very good meal! The cleaning of the hallways needs improvement, lots of dirt on the carpets and stairs.

Delicious meal, beautifully decorated room, but a very noisy stay. Several disrespectful groups during breakfast made it impossible to enjoy the moment and relax. A real shame.

The spacious bathroom was equipped with shower gel and shampoo, and a hairdryer was available. The toilet was spotless. The restaurant is also flawless; the tables are impeccably set with beautiful tableware; the dishes are succulent and original. The grounds offer a moment of serenity with their calm and beauty. A wonderful discovery to make... or to make again!

Hello, we were upgraded. Despite this, we found the room small, with only one chair and a tiny bathroom. Breakfast was very expensive for what it offered: no hot dishes, non-woven towels, no fruit salad... (which is what one expects in a hotel of this category).

A peaceful moment in a large park, bathed in the beautiful colors of autumn and adorned with Halloween decorations. A lovely, spacious suite with a cozy reading nook in the tower and a magnificent view of the park and the Monts du Lyonnais in the distance. Excellent bedding. A perfect dinner with beautifully presented dishes. Very pleasant and attentive staff. A lovely stroll through the park. Golf is available for guests, with equipment rental and pétanque courts. Breakfast features a selection of local products.

Le rapport qualité/prix est souvent mal interprété ... ça ne veut pas dire bon marché, c'est cher et c'est parfait donc le rapport est bon !
Le personnel est très attentif, veut satisfaire le client et très aimable. Le restaurant propose un menu du jour excellent et abordable. Je trouve astucieuse la présentation concise du menu/carte où selon son choix ... on fait la bonne addition. Le décor est fabuleux. Je regrette de ne pas avoir eu le temps de profiter du parc, j'avais le temps la veille du stage OBUT, il pleuvait ... et ensuite le stage était prenant. Je devrai revenir !!! Je vois dans la suite du questionnaire qu'il y avait le WIFI, je ne savais pas, et mon 5G était très faible au Château, dommage. Je ne trouve pas le moyen de dire ce qui pourrait être amélioré au petit déjeuner, alors ici : des pains spéciaux en plus de la baguette. Et pour le choix de l'hôtel ? C'est le choix d'OBUT.

I arrived in the rain, which doesn't explain the apparent severity of some of the comments. The overall impression is good nonetheless, and many aspects are… excellent! See below. However, one person, not very well dressed, remained throughout the entire evening meal watching/monitoring the customers, without doing anything else! Strange! And without even wishing me goodnight when I left the restaurant!! This reinforced my doubts about the consistency and uniformity of this establishment, which nevertheless has some good points. PS: I only commented within the framework of excellence that you seem to be rightly seeking. And tough love is still love 😉 I was disappointed by the welcome, which wasn't friendly, and the room I found was in the "right wing" of the castle, actually the former stables, which now look like a barracks. Expensive modern design, commensurate with the equipment used, but with a coldness that goes beyond just temperature (neither antique nor modern decor, for that matter). More like monastic cells. They could have done better… Another small detail… the cardboard case for the magnetic key was bent and torn… not great! Since the restaurant is in the basement of the castle, what do you do if you've forgotten your umbrella? Do they lend them out? In any case, not very welcoming! The bathroom heating is complicated. The staff listening to our comments upon departure (no problem with the billing) was very cordial and sincere, without denigrating management or anyone else, simply listening to both good and bad feedback. Regarding the restaurant equipment, the flow of customers between courses needs improvement; you inevitably bump into others. One more detail that speaks volumes… only one type of knife (very sharp), a meat knife! For the breakfast butter! Neither practical nor elegant! Having not ordered fish in the evening, I don't know if there are fish cutlery sets 🤔 Luckily the waiter that day was very friendly. It ended on a good note.

This is my second time here, and I think the setting is spectacular, the rooms are very nice and cozy, and the staff are excellent. Highly recommended!

Excellence requires high standards, so in a standard service, I would have given everything a thumbs up. However, for this type of service, the strengths, in my opinion, are the location, scenery, and accommodation. The welcome was adequate, but there were a few errors, notably the breakfast hours mentioned as 6:30 to 8:30, which forced us to get up earlier when the cut-off time was 10:30. The meal tray wasn't mentioned in the booking, even though the meal was good; we only discovered it when it was served. Perhaps it would have been better if we had been able to express a preference. The staff were friendly. In the morning at breakfast, it seemed that someone's absence had disrupted the preparation, and this was noticeable.

Mixed feelings. Satisfied with the setting and location. A lovely, well-soundproofed room with comfortable bedding, a decent-sized TV, and the starter and main course at dinner. Unfortunately, I arrived in a room with the air conditioning set at 28°C. Unable to lower the temperature, I turned it off. Bathroom: the integrated mirror lighting didn't work. Disappointed by the discrepancy between the information on the hotel's website and the information given over the phone regarding the evening package; namely, a dinner with a starter, main course, and dessert. At the restaurant, I was only offered a starter and main course or a main course and dessert. The service was mediocre for the restaurant's standard: a glass of wine was served late with a minimal amount, and I had to ask for bread. Breakfast: the hot drinks machine wasn't working for coffee. The waitress couldn't fix it and made coffee the traditional way. There was no unsalted butter available from 7:40 am. Finally, I couldn't print my bill.

Il y avait un grand manque de personnel, ceux qui étaient présents couraient dans tous les sens et du coup n'arrivaient pas à répondre aux attentes des gens ( énormément d'attente pour les checkout ..) un couple d'amis s'est retrouvé dans une chambre minuscule alors qu'ils avaient pris une confort et que les nôtres étaient bien plus grande... Mais quand on a voulu avoir un échange avec le directeur il ne travaillait pas ce jour mais surtout personne d'autres ne voulait prendre de décision..
Et pour le petit déj du samedi matin en arrivant un peu après 9 h nous n'avons pas eu grand chose qui restait et du pain congelé pour nos tartines...

The cheese board is better than the fillet steak. It's best to order just the cheese board.

A superb stay at the Château de Valinches, to be repeated

A very nice experience, everything was perfect, the room comfortable and functional, the dinner with attentive service from Elvira, the setting superb.

This year we had organized a tour during which we regularly changed hotels and the Valinches estate was our last stop. Thinking to finish with a high-end hotel we were very disappointed: there was a dead fly on the windowsill, the floor in front of the shower is warped, needs to be changed, the amenities in the room are almost non-existent (no espresso machine, no nice little biscuits...) in the bathroom no toiletries, the bedding is okay but nothing more... We slept in hotels with more affordable rates, a much higher level of amenities (spa included in the room rate, coffee maker available, ...) and a very high-end customer service even though we were passing through and only staying one night. We expected a cocooning

This is the hotel that I chose so I can return to the region for work. I appreciate it beaucoup. The negative point is the terrain between the parking and the hotel. The tendency à être très salt avec les roues des trolleys, et le devient screw boueux when pleut. A passage piéton goudronné serait a plus.

The location, the quality, the cleanliness, nothing to say, the food is very good quality in terms of price, nothing to say, just maybe review the breakfast, maybe create a dedicated reception area for that because of lack of space, otherwise very good establishment overall.

Charming hotel for exploring the Forez region

Very good stay, magnificent place (the park and the buildings are superb, very nice hotel and restaurant services. Downside concerning the access to the parking lot in compacted sand, when the latter is wet it gets everywhere even in the rooms... A prepared access path would be a good idea! A suitcase rest in the room would also be welcome.

There is a BIG management problem overall, even though the teams have potential. The lack of professional guidelines means that the service mission is completely trampled on in favor of a totally misleading appearance of standing! 1) Breakfast is truly too expensive for what it is. 2) The abundance of flies, even though there are plenty of organic and non-chemical tips to keep flies away (cadde wood, etc.) 3) The restaurant's cuisine is literally the opposite of what is "sold on paper". 4) The kitchen staff do not wear any protection (hairnet, etc.). 5) The quality of the dishes is truly regrettable, so the value for money is poor. 6) The rooms in the North wing should be avoided because they overlook the road, which is particularly noisy, when we are promised (especially on BOOKING.COM) a view of the lake. 7) The rooms are unfortunately very small for their price. Furthermore, the layout of our room was once again impractical!

Poorly air-conditioned room with no adjustable air conditioning. Except for reception, unprofessional staff (a bunch of scruffy teenagers on the verge of being rude). Very little equipment that would allow you to enjoy the outdoors (no chairs or table). Mediocre breakfast, broken coffee machine, choice between an overheated room with no windows and a table outside in full sun without a blind, while a shaded terrace is 10m away but set up from 7am for lunch and forbidden to hotel guests, which says a lot about the contempt for the clientele.

The Château and Estate of Valinches is a wonderful place in every way. The château, first of all, is sublime with all its outbuildings, its immense, magnificent and very well-maintained park. The welcome is very warm and of a kindness that is extremely rare for pets. In our beautiful room, Stuart had the very nice surprise of having little treats with a little welcome note, a large cushion to sleep on and 2 bowls for eating and drinking. Arriving on Sunday evening for 1 night, we had the meal trays prepared with fresh products and a tiny delicacy by the chef at lunchtime. A place that we recommend 100%. Thank you to all the staff and the director for their warm and kind welcome.

A serene and peaceful place, beautifully restored, extremely comfortable room

Okay, but a major drawback is the catering service, its organization, and the quality of the breakfast.

The place is magnificent and the team takes great care of the customers.

The first room allocated was not made up, so I was transferred to the suite just below. This is not a suite!! Only one armchair in a small, undecorated tower. You can only watch TV in bed!

We stayed there 3 years ago everything was perfect but then I called to book a room it was 123€ and I said that we were not taking breakfasts and when we arrived we were told that I had taken breakfasts, so I asked to remove them and when it came to paying the next day the room was 154.50€. I made a complaint the person told me that it was indeed the price of the standard room and on the confirmation email of course no price so I wonder if the breakfasts were not put on the price of the room. In addition the room had a musty smell when we arrived.

An amazing hotel and setting. We stayed only 1 night as we were passing through to our next stop near Paris.
The hotel is quality, all the way from the decor, to fixtures and the bedding.
We walked the grounds down to the lake and visited the horses.
We were able to get into our room early which was great.
The room was clean and bed comfy, sadly no lift to our room, but fine using the stairs. The room was hot and we could not turn the fan down to the desired temp... we did mention this on check out and staff not concerned.
On arrival, were shown to the Salon where there was games and seating, coffee was slightly disappointing but we quickly got stuck into playing some of the games. It'd be great if there was a bigger selection of coffee/tea/milk to cater for all needs in the salon and in the room too.
The onsite restaurant, food was amazing! Some staff not as friendly as others and seemed like they didnt want to be serving. Grumpy man.
Breakfast was not great, we came at 8am (well within the times told) with no greetings so sat ourselves down. We proceeded to get the breakfast where there was no bread for toast, despite a toaster machine. No water, no hot food like scrambled eggs, bacon etc. It seemed like we had come too late. We did not get any fruit as the apricots and plums were either squashed or bruised. We did manage some yoghurt, granola which were of top quality.
I think abit more attention at breakfast would of resolved the points above.
Checkout was easy and quick.

A mistake was made. We had requested an extra bed for our baby and we received accessories for a dog!!

La chambre, rien à redire, propre, confort, etc. Seul bémol, nous avions une poussette et on nous a attribué une chambre au premier étage, ce qui est tout sauf pratique.

En ce qui concerne la restauration, les plats sont bons mais l’organisation entre le personnel est à revoir et cela pas pendant le repas mais avant et après.

Nous visitons des domaines dans le but d’en trouver un pour notre mariage, au vu de l’organisation de celui-ci nous ne reviendrons pas malheureusement.

Il y a un gros potentiel mais il y a un manque de professionnalisme.

Les seules personnes qui ne doivent rien changer sont la personne qui nous a accueilli et a confié les clefs, le gardien de nuit et le personnel qui s'occupe de l'entretien des lieux et des chambres, ils ont contribué à élever la note de ce séjour.

Very beautiful hotel decorated with great taste, very refined. Perfect comfort. However, access is very difficult for those who do not have GPS by personal choice. Marols is not signposted near Monbrizon. How do you know which road to take? The hotel description could indicate that you should take the road to St Jean Soleymieu. There are no signs, not even when you finally arrive in Marols where a sign would be welcome. What a hassle! Furthermore, and on a completely different subject, not finding English Breakfast tea at breakfast was surprising! I think it's the first time this has happened to me. Even in Italy, where tea is not consumed much, there is always English Breakfast tea. Jasmine tea or green tea are not suitable for breakfast. A nice stopover nonetheless for the place and for the welcome on site. The history of the castle could be displayed in the common areas...

Suggestions:
- Same Staff clothing would give a more formal presentation.
- lounge seats would be more appropriate in stead of wooden furniture.
- adding a swimming pool and wellness would be great

Overall, we enjoyed our one-night stay. We especially appreciated the quality of the dinner dishes, which were truly excellent from starter to dessert, and the setting with the golf driving range. The room price is a little high given the small size of the room and the decor. That said, the bedding is excellent.

This hotel is perfect. Top class rooms, building , restaurant and location.

We had an overnight stop at this hotel and it was amazing. The room was very comfortable and the restaurant and staff were exceptional. Will be returning for a longer stay next time.

The rooms are not air-conditioned, and in this intense heat, it's very difficult to get any relief from the heat. Except in the evening, but unfortunately, due to a noisy group of people outside, I couldn't open the windows. As for dinner, it was very expensive for the small portion (two asparagus tips and four and a half potatoes on a bed of beetroot coulis or purée). For breakfast, the orange juice machine wasn't working, there were no scrambled eggs, very few staff members were available, and there were no orange juice glasses, so we had to use champagne flutes.

No air conditioning 28 degrees in room 107 which overlooks the restaurant terrace and impossible to open the window because of the noise until midnight Good dinner but very very few side dishes, 2 potatoes

Les chambre 4 est trop petite pour les 2 grands lits ce qui fait qu'il ne reste quasiment pas de place autour des lits. J'ai dû déménager le nécessaire à boissons chaudes dans l'embrasure de la fenêtre pour poser mon ordinateur (15 pouces) sur la minuscule tablette. Même déménagement du téléphone et de la télécommande pour poser mes médicaments et mon smartphone sur le petit tabouret qui sert de table de nuit. Un seul tabouret-table de nuit et une seule chaise pour une chambre prévue pour 2 personnes.

Votre lieu est magnifique mais nous avons été très déçus pour plusieurs raisons :
J'écris rarement de retours, mais là je dois le faire car votre hôtel n'est pas à la hauteur de ce qui est annoncé sur booking, et n'est pas à la hauteur des principes de l'hôtellerie. Peut être en tant qu'accueil de mariages, je n'en doute pas, mais pour séjourner simplement à l'hôtel, c'était très décevant :
- La chambre proposée (comfort triple) n'avait rien à voir avec ce qui est montré sur booking, nous avons demandé à changer, c'était mieux mais ça restait différent des photos mises en avant, moins esthétique, bien moins grand. Aussi, pour un séjour dans un château ce serait bien de prévenir que beaucoup de chambres ne sont pas dans le château, car c'est ce qu'on attend en réservant.
- l'accueil du restaurant a été déplorable, on aurait dit que certains employés était dépités d'être là.
- pour des choses simple comme : demander une chaise haute pour les enfants, on nous a répondu que ce n'est pas possible et qu'il n'y en a pas. Pourtant en allant aux toilettes j'ai vu 2 chaises rangées.
- Le petit déjeuner le lendemain a été une catastrophe et nous n'étions pas les seuls à le penser (ce petit déjeuner est pourtant annoncé comme 'superbe' sur Booking). Plus grand chose à manger à 9h15 (le petit dej est jusqu'à 10h); des gobelets en plastique car plus de verres, pas de possibilité de faire marcher la machine à jus d'orange car la personne en charge ne sait pas changer le bac; pas de possibilité d'avoir une table vers les fenêtres.
- dans l'ensemble, nous sommes des clients normaux avec des attentes normales, si toutes les choses qui ne sont pas possibles nous avaient été annoncée avec du respect et la forme qu'il convient dans ces cas là, nous pourrions comprendre, mais le personnel n'a pas été agréable, mis à part la personne qui nous a changé de chambre et que je remercie.

Lovely evening stopover in a magnificent location. Friendly staff at reception upon my arrival. The room is well renovated and very quiet. Restaurant in the vaulted basement very pleasant. The starter (cream of asparagus) was very nicely presented and excellent but I liked the main course less: the fish (Malabar grouper) was elastic and undercooked. The person in the dining room was very professional and responsive (very appreciable fast service) Good products at breakfast (despite the limited choice for a 4* establishment)
