Teritoria Boutique Hôtel le Clos Huguerie

The hotel has been renovated and looks very tasteful with excellent quality furnishing and fittings and a very high standard of bed linen. But we paid for a hotel so that we could sleep and we didn’t get that. What hadn’t been taken into consideration during renovation was noise inside and outside the hotel and the air conditioning. We were unable to relax and try and sleep until the occupant of the room above us stopped walking around. It was so loud and was like a herd of wildebeest on migration. It was well after midnight before the noise stopped. Whilst the street outside was fairly quiet, you certainly hear it when traffic passes through.

It was extremely hot in Bordeaux when we visited. There was air conditioning but it was only really effective if you stood in the entrance area, it was too far away to be effective whilst you were in bed. There was also no fridge.

We paid €170 per night and we booked for 2 nights. We checked out after one night. The thought of having to go through another night was just not an option. I made it clear we were checking out early. We were not asked why or whether we had a good stay during check out. We were not contacted until two weeks after by generic email.

If this was my newly refurbished establishment I would want to know. Repeat business and recommendations are very important. Most places will have teething problems, it’s how you address them show the class of the place. As a consequence of our overall experience we would neither return or recommend this hotel.

Incredibly charming hotel. The staff were amazingly helpful. We very much enjoyed our stay.

Les échanges avec tout le personnel ont été très agréables. Ils sont très serviables, prêts à rendre service, souriant et très aimable, un plaisir!
L’hôtel refait est vraiment très agréable, très bien situé pour découvrir Bordeaux à pied et la nouvelle déco très réussie.
