Very clean, spacious room with perfect bedding! A beautiful view of the peaceful garden! Perfect location in the city.
The hotel and meals were very good, but the breakfast was less so. Upon arrival, there were no pastries, very few savory options, no eggs of any kind, and no hot dishes! (€17... still...!)
This hotel is ideally located in the heart of Avranches and offers free parking. The rooms are situated in a small garden behind the hotel, away from street noise. Excellent for its dog-friendly policy; there's no extra charge. The breakfast could be improved; it's a bit pricey for the limited selection: no hot dishes like scrambled eggs or bacon, but a wide variety of cheeses. And no apple juice, imagine that!
It is sometimes wonderful to visit a location of the old school, the likes of which you hardly ever come across anymore.
We regularly return to this establishment. The restaurant and hotel are always perfect.

I took advantage of the overnight/stopover offer and I was satisfied with my stay. I suggest the following improvements: - replace the shower head - clean the shower more thoroughly as it has several mold stains - as a solo traveler, I didn't appreciate being seated right next to the kitchen - offer cider by the glass. What I did enjoy: - dinner was very good - the walnut bread at breakfast was delicious - the selection of cheeses at breakfast

The hotel is very well located for exploring the region. The room was well laid out and impeccably clean. The breakfast was perfect and varied, served in a very pretty, cozy, old-fashioned room with tablecloths. We didn't use the restaurant. A major plus was the private parking, which is always a key factor when booking through Logis de France.

We received a very warm welcome upon arrival, with all the necessary information for our stay. The room was comfortable but too high up for us, being tall. The meal and wine were excellent; the restaurant alone is worth a visit.

Wonderful old coaching inn centuries old. old rooms seem great. So-called economy rooms are small and of lower standard. Garden and dining rooms are classic and beautiful.

An excellent location in the centre of town with parking. Beautiful ground floor reception a restaurant. The rooms were quite a distance from the main building and up a flight of stairs, but the room was modern and comfortable. Sadly we only stayed one night , on our way to Cherbourg port. The gardens looked very appealing and on a love.y sunny day would be great. Will consider staying again in the spring.
Everything good, but rooms need more free electrical socks to plug in modern necessities - phones, tablets, 2 others in my case!

We had booked a number of rooms as we were on a Cycletour of 12 people. It was really important that we had enough bedrooms so that people didnt have to share a double bed. When we arrived at the hotel there was a real issue with the receptionist who inssited that although we had booked the rooms that we would have to sleep "back to back" as we had a room bookings for 16 people and only paying for 12 breakfasts! She was adement and so we went to the rooms to try and make this work. We couldnt, and so luckily there was another room spare so i had to suck up the extra cost and book it.
This particular assistant and the manager made us feel like we were an absolute inconvenience to the hotel and were very unfriendly. The receptionist in the morning was lovely and tbh she seemed super scared of the manager. The rooms were nice and also the breakfast was amazing - BUT i would not recoomend this hotel or wish to stay there again. Customer first! I booked and pre paid that many rooms in twin set ups for a reason!!
A very nice hotel with a well-kept garden where it must be very pleasant to have a coffee on sunny days. Unfortunately, we didn't really take advantage of the hotel due to last-minute ferry schedule changes. We had to leave in the middle of the night. And that was a shame.

Very nice, stylish hotel. Good French breakfast. The family room with two large double beds was very dark, and the bathroom was far too small for four people and in poor condition. But it was okay for one night.
What a joy that this kind of place still exists. The hotel and restaurant are truly up to scratch, with service that is as dignified and professional as ever. The restaurant's decor is a museum in itself, which doesn't take away from anything!

It's a beautiful complex. The decor is ideal and perfectly suited to the history of the building. The cleanliness, staff service, and breakfast all deserve top marks.
The hotel is located in a historic building. The room is very spacious, with two double beds, two desks, and four chairs. The bathroom is large and fully equipped with everything you need (linens, hairdryer, soap, and shampoo).
La Croix d’Or is a real gem and we loved everything during our stay. The beautiful gardens, the outdoor terrace and sufficient (free) parking The staff was wonderful and the dinner was exquisitely good!

The tap water tastes strange and the accessibility of the rooms with big suitcases is bad. The wifi connection in room 31 was also very instable.
A very central and pleasant hotel with a pretty garden and ample, convenient parking. Access to the first floor is difficult due to stairs (no elevator), and the pillows are too soft. Otherwise, it was comfortable and highly recommended.
Without a doubt the best hotel in the country
TB in every way. We had already stayed there and were very happy, which is why we repeated the experience! We preferred the large, bright room in the pavilion to the one we had on the ground floor overlooking the garden, which was of course pleasant and without stairs, but smaller and darker + a passageway. Not really the hotels fault about the thoughtless guest in the room above walking about all night like a load of elephants. Would have been nice to eat at the hotel, unfortunately the cost was beyond our budget, a lower cost bar snack menu would have been great.
Pleasant stopover in this former 17th century coaching inn
We are very satisfied with our stay (4 days/5 nights) at the Hotel de la Croix d'Or in AVRANCHES. The setting is pleasant, our room overlooked a flower garden. The restaurant's cuisine is delicious and varied, and the staff very friendly. A fan helped to ventilate the room, but it's a shame that a small refrigerator for cold drinks could not be installed.
