An excellent up-market experience and there really is a magnificant view of the Cathedral, especially at night.

This is a beautiful hotel, with a wonderful atmosphere right across from the cathedral. I tried emailing a few times before we arrived to ask about parking and to book a table in the restaurant but didn't receive a reply. It transpired both had booked when we got there... so my message had been received. In the restaurant we ordered three courses and the food was good but our third course didn't arrive. We asked a young waiter after waiting twenty five minutes for this third course and then another ten minutes later it still wasn't there, so we left. We had also been hoping to order more wine to accompany our desert and cheese but didn't get the chance. It seemed that the restaurant had become very busy with people who seemed to know the staff and we were suddenly invisible. I couldn't understand how they were struggling though as there were so many waiters. It's a shame as this is a really lovely place with good food and all the staff were very polite and friendly ... just disorganised. I want to leave this feedback as the place has the propensity to be excellent. Also we found out that their parking spaces weren't really big enough for a 4x4 so we reserved at Q space carpark some 200 metres away which wasn't a problem .... just mentioning this for people with reduced mobility

Hôtel très mal insonorisé, les prestations ne sont pas à la hauteur du prix (chambre et salle de bain très petites)
En plus du bruit des autres clients (pas, conversations et autres) nous avons eu la musique du karaoké à fond jusqu'à 1h du matin 😤 et cela même après avoir appelé l'accueil. Si vous souhaitez dormir, dans un hôtel cela me paraît légitime, et bien fuyez

le bruit parois trop fines on entend les voisins de la chambre voisine comme si on était avec eux aussi bien de la chambre et dans la salle de bains

We have stayed many times over the years at this hotel. We like the bar.though a little expensive and the restaurant is good. Staff always helpful and friendly. Having car parking is necessary.

l’hotel est très bien situé, la chambre était jolie et spacieuse, le parking à 9€ la journée est parfait et à deux pas de l’hotel.
Seul petit bémol la chambre est moyennement isolée et le petit déjeuner qui pourrait être plus varié.
Malgré tout l’hôtel était très beau et c’était un agréable séjour pour une première visite de Chartres

Stayed here in the past and have always enjoyed the hotel , but the room was very small , stayed for four nights and there was hardly any room to hang clothes , the shower was tiny and had to be very careful that the water didn't go all over the floor , also a horrible smell coming from the sink when you ran the tap
the normally fantastic restaurant , the menu wasn't appealing at all [ calves heads , razor clams etc]
Definitely wouldn't use this hotel again.

We were impressed by the friendliness of the staff and the prompt and satisfactory fulfillment of our special requests. Valuable tips from the employees for the stay and the visits, for example the media library, made our stay special. The cozy little room offered a wonderful view of Chartres Cathedral. The charm of the hotel lies in the mix of old and new, be it in the decoration as well as in the furnishings. The location is very good for visiting the sights; we were able to leave the car in the nearby hotel garage on all days. The associated restaurant has top-class cuisine and very attentive service. This hotel is a charming establishment, you can feel that it is owner-managed. We felt very comfortable.

Very pleasant hotel on a human scale, quiet despite its location in the city center with a superb view of the cathedral. Respectful, discreet, smiling staff. As for the restaurant, it's a gem! Both by the decoration of the room and by the quality of the dishes and wines. An unforgettable experience!

We had an excellent stay at the Le Boeuf Crowne hotel. We particularly appreciated the welcome, the very cozy atmosphere of the hotel and enjoyed having a drink at the Christie's bar. The family room is very pleasant and spacious, the bedding is excellent. Breakfast is very well served. Finally, the hotel is perfectly located in the city. THANKS !

We loved the location of this hotel, from where we could walk to the central square, Chartres cathedral and historical center, great restaurants, the Chartres train station and to our paid underground parking site where our car was stored safely. We stayed in two different rooms - the triple comfort including two rooms and a double comfort room next door. Both rooms were decorated and supplied with care and cleaned daily, and we enjoyed very friendly and helpful service from the front desk. The downsides to this hotel were the bathrooms - a bit outdated, also smaller than those we saw in other hotels and the lack of air conditioning during the unexpected September heatwave! Understandable in such a historic building, but uncomfortable because when the windows are open, traffic noise is unavoidable. Unfortunately the double glazing was not sufficient to keep out traffic noise from the buses and motorcycles passing in the main street in front of the hotel, and in the end we did not sleep well. Clearly the hotel has no control over the routes the city sends its buses, but it is very unfortunate that orange city buses are idling their noisy engines for hours on end in the "quiet" street behind the hotel. Why these buses can not switch their engines off when they are not transporting passengers, beggars belief.

Chambres très petites. Néanmoins, les lits sont confortables. Et les sanitaires, bien que minuscules, sont modernes et de qualité.

Too bad to run 20 liters of water before the hot water arrives.... the bathroom is not up to par with the rest (tiny, with the toilet stuck to the shower, no hairdryer etc)

Everything good. The only exception: it were the first days with lower temperatures and at evening we freezer in the room.

Lovely welcome on arrival, great help with parking, and the restaurant was very good. Ideal location to view the Cathedral. The only downside for us was that the room was very small. However, overall we enjoyed our stay.

Unfortunately the room was just as warm as the outside temperature. There is a fan - but it doesn't help in this case either. It's just a nice old hotel without air conditioning. We've been there twice and will be back! The restaurant and service are great!

How to optimize 12m2 with a bedroom and a bathroom - WC The Hôtel du Boeuf Crowne has managed to achieve this...

Excellent retro style structure. I prefer modern decor, but I was still satisfied. The only flaw is the duvet. It was too hot and perhaps a mid-season blanket would have been better.

The staff are all high quality. We found the premises clean and welcoming. The food was excellent. We were very impressed and will be returning soon.

Great location near the cathedral; superb food.

All very well, from the welcome to the kindness of the staff. Hotel very close to the city center and easy to access. The only difficulty, due to the summer season, was the lack of air conditioning in the room which was, probably due to its exposure, really very hot. A pedestal fan, which was also very noisy, partially solved the problem but we turned it off at night and slept with the window open.

Reception and restaurant staff very efficient, helpful and super friendly. The hotel room was extremely small, crammed and without a/c, an absolute must in the price range today. Bathroom was the size of a pocket handkerchief, the size of shower just about big enough for skeletons.

In the heart of Chartres, perfect for an evening tour of the illuminated city. Small but nice rooms with the possibility of a view of the cathedral. We just need more attention to cleanliness, but the structure is absolutely comfortable and pleasant.

This property is so sweet and the staff was exceptional. We had an incredible view and were able to park securely near by. We came to Chartres for a friend's wedding and while I would say if you absolutely need to use an elevator this hotel may be a bit challenging ( I was thinking of my parents during our stay), as the lift is quite small. This hotel is cute, quaint, a perfect location, and while it wouldn't fall into a luxury category, you can certainly see the charm and incredible value when you stay.

Difficulty in communicating with most of the workers in English. Poor customer service. Upon returning to the hotel at night and asking for my room key I was denied entry because the worker could not find my last name and room number in the system. Instead of giving the option of a system glitch or miscommunication due to his level of English, I was questioned as to whether I was staying at the hotel, making me feel that I had made a mistake. The front desk worker pointed me out the door to the street inviting me to leave the hotel, which was totally unacceptable.
The treatment was awkward and unnecessary and not helpful in maintaining close communication. They are not agile in the service, the cleanliness of the room was insufficient and the bathroom very small and outdated. The only good thing, the location and decoration of the reception and restaurant.

Easy place for access to convention center.

I stayed in this hotel many years ago when I was a teenager. I remembered it was in a good location. It is now modern and stylish with a nice bar and top class restaurant. From my bedroom was a superb view of Charters cathedral. So all excellent.

Arrived by car and spent 2 days in Chartres, hotel is ideally located for visiting the cathedral and the pedestrian area. Secure garage for parking. Room is adequate, clean and good bed, bathroom a bit small, restaurant food was excellent.

Chosen for our stage on the veloscénie, it is a comfortable hotel with attentive staff. We booked the room and a table at the restaurant at the same time. The restaurant is excellent.

Excellent bedding. The shower cubicle deserves a door rather than a not very hygienic curtain.

Le Bœuf Couronné is a quality establishment, where you feel good. We particularly appreciated the restaurant menu, with local dishes prepared with a lot of know-how and tastefully presented. The service is impeccable.

A very pleasant surprise, despite the noise from the street. A sound curtain or triple glazing would be a plus. The possibility of parking is an advantage, however anticipated sharing information on the locality of the parking lot would be interesting in order to avoid having to stop in double line The restaurant is also incredible. We will return to your establishment with pleasure.

Too bad they don't take into account the comments left when booking and pre-registration... I have a hypersensitivity to noise and had asked for a quiet room... 2 windows, 2 overlooking the rue des bus stops, and I also had the right one morning at 5:30 a.m. to change bin containers... Conclusion: customer requests are irrelevant...

The room was ready the morning of our arrival, which was very convenient, because we were offered to move in directly. The bed was very comfortable, we slept very well. Convenient for a stay in Chartres, close to everything, from the train station to the city center

It was all lovely. The bar was beautiful, and very festive ( the day before New Year’s Day. And the meal was beautifully presented and delicious

Very nice, cozy hotel in a remarkable location (near the cathedral). The bedding is perfect and the breakfast plentiful and very varied. The welcome is warm. A closed garage is available near the hotel. Only downside: the size of the cramped bathroom and the shower closed by a curtain.

Perfect exterior and interior. Elevator a bit small. Very decent room. Nice decor and comfortable bedding. Varied breakfast. Excellent catering. The pie stuffed with poached pear: a marvel. Very caring staff and very friendly welcome.

The hotel and room was comfortable, very clean and tastefully decorated. The welcome is perfect and the possibility of enjoying a quality restaurant and bar is significant. The only reservation to note is that the shower in our standard room overlooking the courtyard is really small (not suitable for a heavy person or for more than one night).

This hotel in downtown Chartres is very well kept. The room was very small but very well installed and very clean. The reception was correct and warm. No fresh fruit in breakfast.

A small downside, due to its ideal position (right in the center opposite the cathedral), a little noisy due to the circulation of buses and the many stops just below, an improvement in sound insulation in the future and that is 10/10. In any case, for my next stay in Chartres, no need to look for one, it will be the Hotel du Boeuf Couronne

The hotel is not renovated or maintained regularly and the price is too high for the rooms. Notorious lack of cleanliness Wallpaper that is peeling off, bathroom to be completely redone etc….. unfortunately we were very disappointed.

Great historic hotel with a perfect location. Liked · We were asked about our wishes by e-mail even before we arrived - perfect! The location to the city center and the cathedral is great! The public part of the hotel (bar, restaurant, toilets and staircase) is very lovingly and stylishly furnished. The history is preserved and very skilfully sets modern accents! The staff is in ALL areas of friendliness, willingness to help hard to beat! Particularly noteworthy is the restaurant, which knows how to spoil you with culinary delights! Top! Finding a fair room rating is very difficult for me! Because the beautiful historical setting is also noticeable in the rooms. Our room had a great view of the cathedral but was quite small. The bathroom was very cramped. Unfortunately, there was only a small open wardrobe. What is great, however, is the possibility of reserving a parking space in the nearby multi-storey car park! Thus, the service, the reception, the communication, the restaurant and the bar deserve 10 points. Unfortunately not the room. Didn't like · Unfortunately, the room didn't do justice to the extremely perfect impression of the hotel. It was quite small, as was the bathroom. Pleasant furnishing details such as a closed closet, a safe, and a refrigerator were missing.

Really good stay, but on very hot day the only thing which spoiled the experience was the lack of air conditioning in the bedroom.

The bathroom was so small you could barely turn around in it. Barely big enough for one person. The room was also too small for two people to move around in it. Nothing like the pictures and definitely not a “comfort” room.

The restaurant and the food were excellent. The service is very nice and accommodating. The rooms are a bit on the small side, but the hotel had a certain flair. The view of the illuminated cathedral in the evening was gigantic

Welcoming staff, fantastic location and excellent food. This town centre location makes this an ideal place to discover beautiful Chartres. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was clean and comfortable and the meals were excellent. Would thoroughly recommend. Paying extra for a room with a view definitely worth it, as was the secure car park.

Very comfortable beds & warm welcome from staff. A shame that our gluten-free guests weren't catered for at breakfast because they had run out of bread & deliveries weren't due for 2 days. We went to the local shop & had no problem buying our own gluten-free bread there.

Overall very satisfactory restaurant reception bar location, quiet bedding. But, a downside the cramped shower room and in its original condition, a few hairs in the shower and dust behind the curtains in the room. be careful the shower gel was dry after a first shower

we wanted to be in pleasant walking distance from the city, and the Cathedral in particular. This fitted the bill superbly that said we did drive past it twice thanks to the trees being in full leaf, and being British, "sat on the wrong side" of the car. Checking in was strange as it was simpler than I am use to, directions to the car park and its proximity to the hotel was good too. Having opted for the supplement for a Cathedral view, that was delivered with a very nice corner bedroom which was far better than we expected - Thank you

The hotel is pleasant enough, but it does seem that things have been squeezed in! The lift is tiny. The room is a bit small. The bathroom is very6 small and the shower tray is miniscule.

Good central location and a nice reception and terrace area. Staying with my son and sadly no twins available. Double room was very small & bathroom tiny. Room was very hot but in fairness so was the day. Restaurant good but rather formal. Wish with hindsight we'd just walked toward the Cathedral to one ot the many open air places One gripe - I booked parking and they reserved me a spot BUT the car park (about 100m away) an old garage type building and my rather large car ( 8 series BMW) simply would not fit and in fact after a stressful few minutes having go stuck and nicked an alloy I gave up and parked in the much easier public secure parking

Very good: the location! The city center with its sights is within walking distance. The hotel has its own parking spaces 5 minutes away, which must be reserved.

The staff were very helpful, friendly and welcoming but there were a lot of small things wrong with the room that should have been easily fixed - the main light wasn't working, the bathroom door handle was broken and came off in my hands, the bathroom radiator could not be adjusted as was permanently on making it really hot. I also asked for a quiet room but was given a room on the street with traffic.

Public areas of the hotel are very good. Our Classic room (#26) was compact but adequate, bed very comfortable which was the main requirement, but no hanging space and deco looking a little worn. Very small bathroom with a sufficiently powerful shower. Excellent breakfast for €12 and very friendly service. Private parking is 100m away in a multi story private garage for €8 per night. There are limited number of spaces (7 I think, so advance reservation is essential) and they are very narrow so large estates and SUVs will struggle. Overall it’s great value for money in the city centre close to the cathedral and old town bars and restaurants. I’d happily stay again,

The only drawback in this pleasant stay was the noise from the road during the night. The cars that passed seemed to be on their way to Le Mans....what a noise!! For the rest: very good, very pleasant room, very good dinner and breakfast. Taking a shower in a bath remains a bit difficult, especially if there is no separation.
