Cet endroit est surprenant mais très beau.
Nous avions choisi cet hôtel au vu des indications données dans sa publicité. Première surprise : personne pour nous accueillir ; seul une information donnant un code pour l'ouverture du portail (inutile, le portail étant resté toujours ouvert) un code d'accès pour rentrer dans le bâtiment et le numéro de la chambre(110) où la clé nous attendez. Restaurant fermé ; une personne rencontrée, par hasard nous explique que le restaurant ayant fonctionné le week-end il était fermé mardi contrairement à ce qui nous avait été indiqué lors de la réservation ; cette personne nous indique comment pouvoir dîner en ville mais malheureusement le seul restaurant digne de ce nom était complet. Manifestement l'hôtel était vide (2 chambres occupées. Il aurait été plus correct de n'ouvrir cet établissement qu'une fois les aménagement terminés;
L'hotel était fermé le jour de notre séjour. Je ne l'ai appris que la veille en les appelant. Nous avons quand même pu récupérer la clef - aucun service accès par codes - petit déjeuner livré la veille au soir et pas terrible ... très déçu par le rapport qualité prix, nous avions pris une chambre supérieure pourtant. Rénovation réalisée avec des prestations moyennes. Bref à ne pas recommander !

Very beautiful old building with an ideal location in Saint Flour. The view from the rooms over the countryside is very pleasant. There is parking and the restaurant is very satisfactory. In short, we are very delighted with our stay. The room we booked for one night was one of the simplest.
We expected a unique hotel from the description and it definitely was. We would stay here again.
Excellent situation in a charming town. However the hotel requires considerable sums of money to be spent on it to bring it upto standard let alone a comfortable and welcoming experience. At present it is more seminary than hotel.

We really enjoyed this establishment. We ate particularly well and were very well received. Only the lack of acoustics in the hotel disturbed us somewhat. Nevertheless the history of the building explains this problem and we were aware of it. no doubt that a future renovation will bring the necessary improvement

A magnificent place in the heart of the citadel of St Floiur! So yes, there is linoleum on the floor and fairly spartan furniture, but to immerse the space for a moment in the atmosphere of this former major seminary, we quickly forget these details and take advantage of the magnificent view and the soul of this building after enjoying an excellent dinner in the majestic refectory. We will come back

Really a place steeped in history, very quiet with a room with a beautiful view, and close to the historic center. A very satisfying menu. Compliments
The room is comfort only in name. Insulation is non-existent. The service is missing. The friendliness was not there that day. Night staff must not exist or else they don't care about the comfort and tranquility of customers.

Mediocre hotel for the price
An interesting and surprising place! a small but very welcoming team. An excellent table, with dishes that are perhaps a little too generous, given the high temperatures of this summer of 2022. An exceptional cheese platter with all the "secrets" of the region.
We chose this hotel, due to the location of the hotel, but also the pictures of the rooms, which looked comfortable and welcoming. What a disappointment when we saw our room, which looked more like a monk's cell than a hotel room! In itself, the room is functional and the bedding comfortable, but that has nothing to do with the rooms seen in the photos on the site. It is simply false advertising. If we had seen the pictures of the room we were going to get, we would not have booked this hotel, because in the end it is not very good value for money.
Very beautiful place, beautiful renovation of this former major seminary (not finished) beautiful spacious and comfortable room warm welcome beautiful panorama over the valley. You will not be disappointed.
Of course this is not a hotel like the others! No effort of decoration or very little, no it is the atmosphere of the place, its history, which seduces, the calm and the serenity which emerge from it make its particularity
Comfort room does not correspond at all to the photos on the site. Very unwelcoming room with low-end furniture, a 140 cm bed, linoleum on the floor and on the walls of the bathroom. Room resembling a hospital room. If the photos of this room had been offered to me, I would never have booked this hotel. Regarding the breakfast which is served until 9:30 am, arriving at 9 am there were only two slices of baguette left. No pastries available. The people who arrived after us were just given a full baguette without pastries, etc. This is false advertising, we will not return to this hotel, which nevertheless seems very attractive on the internet!
Reservation via the site of the lodgings room at 80€. On our arrival we were offered an upgrade for 10€ more. Restaurant closed. So just the breakfasts at 11€ per person. What with the tourist taxes should make us a total of 105.96€. Surprise: the invoice presented is €143.99. Payment with a Logis loyalty check for €15 and the balance by credit card for €128.99. And finally, the hotelier declares only €120 spent at the Logis Hotel for loyalty. This hotelier is dishonest.
This was a truly awful experience.
We called ahead to inform the hotel of our arrival time, but found no one at reception when we got there exactly as agreed. There was a function going on which seemed to preoccupy the staff to the exclusion of other guests. We rang the bell. We waited several minutes. Nothing. Several waiting staff passed carrying platters and we asked each of them to inform the receptionist of our arrival. Nothing. We rang the bell again. Nothing. Finally, a kindly young man took pity on us and offered to check us in. A few minutes later the actual receptionist arrived and told him off. Clearly helping people is not her thing. She offered no apology for her absence.
It then appeared that the hotel had not received our request for a table that evening for dinner. This is apparently a problem with Logis de France reservation software. Whatever you write in the message section is not transmitted as part of the booking. Logis de France need to fix this as it is annoying for both the clientele and the hotels themselves. As it was, the restaurant was clearly closed because of the function and we had to go elsewhere to eat.
Arriving back around midnight, we used the night entry door which was in a part of the building we were not familiar with. We took a wrong turn and ended up near the kitchen. The chef must have had a stressful evening. Instead of asking us if we were lost and directing us politely to our room, he yelled at us to get out. I explained (in French) that we were trying to access our room and asked which way to go. He continued yelling and told us to go back the way we had come. I commented sarcastically on the "warm welcome" we had received to which he bellowed "what did you say??" I replied that he had most certainly heard me and that I wasn't going to repeat it. Most unpleasant. Even his fellow colleagues were shocked judging by the looks on their faces. I think the chef needs to be reminded that clients should be treated respectfully and that it is the guests who pay his wages.
The next morning, breakfast was somewhat chaotic. A roomful of people but just one member of staff around to assist. Only one coffee machine out of the three was working when we arrived. One of the other guests removed a reservoir and went off to fill it up with water. There were precisely two teabags remaining. Six inches of bread and the pains au chocolat had seen better days. The two apples in the bowl were soft and wrinkly. People ended up helping themselves to extra supplies from the cupboard in the corner. Not worth eleven euros.
On checkout, I was, yet again, asked which group I was in, and yet again, replied that I wasn't. Perhaps I would have got better service if I had said I was. The same sullen receptionist presented me with a bill which stated that the room was priced at 84 euros when my Logis de France confirmation was for 80 euros. I questioned it, to be told that the difference arose because I had booked using the Logis de France software. Eh????? She then watched me as I inserted my American Express card twice, which was refused, but said nothing. When I then asked if they accepted American Express and she said they didn't. This was beginning to feel like a game. How hard did she have to try to annoy me before I eventually caved, and she got the fight she wanted? Are she and the chef in some sort of competition? I couldn't be bothered. I have more exciting things to do. Like get in the car and drive to the next Logis
I booked in an establishment to make a stopover attracted by an enticing presentation, in a place steeped in history. We then received a confirmation of this reservation with a rate of 110€ for one night and specified that we wanted to have dinner and of course have breakfast. When we arrived we received a polite greeting and were asked if we would like dinner so we confirmed the terms of our booking. We discovered the building which converted into a hotel-restaurant has the charm of old stones steeped in history. The room was actually a family room made up of two rooms, one with a 140 double bed and the other two pairs of twin beds, nothing to say about cleanliness and comfortable furnishings, at this stage we We had no doubts about the relevance of our choice even if the double bed seemed a bit tight. At dinner, the dining room was inviting with its well-arranged tables, the welcome was decent but not very attentive with the wait to get the menu and then place an order. We ask for the aperitif menu, we are made to bring two wine lists, we insist we have to order because we cannot have a priced list after a "what do you want to drink?". without suggestions. Even before having received our order for an aperitif, we are automatically served, as at the other tables, the appetizer, which is a bit confusing... and the starter arrives even before we have finished our drinks. We claim our wine order, it arrives, the bottle is opened for us and it is deposited without any other taste ritual, good. Objectivity leads us to say that the cuisine is of good quality with a beautiful dressing of the plates and just cooking. the cheese platter made up exclusively of regional cheeses is remarkable and the desserts excellent. In short, the small shortcomings of the service to which is added the fact of not serving the ladies first are at this stage forgotten. The beds are comfortable and the sleep restful, the breakfast is complete and varied. Then comes the time for the bill and the quick departure, because we still have a long way to go, I pay in confidence without checking the bill, it will be a mistake, I try to have my card code registered, it does not work . So I give the number of it and the person at the reception tells me that she will make the entry later, we leave. Arrived at destination I check my emails and there surprise the amount retained for my ETIK card does not correspond to the total of my note. I read the details of this one to understand and there second more unpleasant surprise, the room announced and reserved for 110€ was invoiced to us at 140€... I therefore note two errors, one on the over-invoicing , the other on the non-application of the characteristics of the ETIK card. Still believing in a mistake, I phone the hotel in the early afternoon, explain my complaints to the receptionist, who puts me on hold, then tells me that she cannot do anything because her manager is absent but that I will be reminded. At the end of the afternoon, seeing nothing coming, I call back, the same person, a little embarrassed, tells me that she still has not seen her manager again but that we do not lose sight of my request. Thirty-six hours after the events, I'm still waiting for the beginning of an explanation. So to my great regret, despite the positive points that I have highlighted, this stay is a source of annoyance for me and I will not recommend anyone to expose themselves to such disappointments and such contempt for the client.
