We were very surprised that our room is on the 2nd floor (no elevator) and that no one offers help to carry the luggage. We are 76 years old. The meals are very good but there are not many choices on the menu.

Bedroom 1 very welcoming and comfortable. Overlooking the roundabout but well isolated so quiet. It was very hot (mid Jun) so we slept with the windows open and a few cars passed. Very good sweet and savory breakfast. Very good meal.

Ending a tiring day at the AUBERGE DE LA ROSE in Doué la Fontaine is always an excellent motivating prospect in the morning. The rooms are comfortable and impeccably clean and the all-you-can-eat breakfast offers both salty and sweet choices. The restaurant offers in a calm atmosphere to savor dishes always finely prepared by the hotelier himself, an experienced and very talented cook. AUBERGE de la ROSE is really an excellent address for a very short stay or for a longer discovery of this very rich historical sector.

Pleasant stay overall. I noted "disappointing" the comfort of the room because it is not air-conditioned, only a fan allows you to have a feeling of freshness. It is not possible to sleep with the window open because the room overlooks a roundabout where the acceleration of vehicles is audible, especially in the event of wet pavement. You have to choose between the noise of the road, the fan or the heat. The breakfast is correct but 9€50 are excessive for basic products (lack of pastries and eggs). The dinner is tasty and plentiful with pleasant service. Ask for a room on the top floor and overlooking the courtyard if you want a good night's sleep.
Be careful if you stay several days in this hostel not to take the half-board formula which is more expensive by 5€ than the breakfast and dinner which are on the menu.

Hotel good, decent, clean. A little disappointed with the view from the window maybe, breakfast not too much, but that's fine. On the other hand, the big downside is this gentleman who welcomed us on Sunday afternoon: a prison door. Cold not smiling and a lot of trouble saying hello, in my opinion, he should retire or change jobs
My family stayed in the hotel for a number of days whilst attending a wedding nearby. I have to say the manager of this place went out of her way to accommodate our needs. She speaks excellent English (our French is terrible!), is super friendly, helped us out with taxis and let us all stay in the restaurant late one night way past closing time. As a nice touch she put most of us on the same floor with rooms beside each other. I thought that was a nice gesture.
Hotel very noisy when there is work. At 8:00 am you are awakened by machines. Not a word of apology from the hotel. I would simply have liked to be warned and I would have made my choice not to come to this place. I would definitely not go there again.

Room spacious enough for 2 adults and a teenager, good size bathroom too. The large size bedding is of good quality and the cleanliness of the room is more than satisfactory. the bad points: bad luck on this hot day, 3rd floor, attic, no air conditioning... the fan in place couldn't do much, 30° in the room. So we slept with the window open, good idea until 5am: garbage collectors, mopeds and all the noises of a small town waking up. Hotel located on the side of the road and a roundabout. There is a car park in front of the hotel as well as a larger one just a little further on this side, no worries. For the price, everything is consistent, the lady at the reception is polite and courteous. I recommend this hotel but in less hot season. A small fridge with simple bottles of cold water would be a real plus.
The owners were very accommodating, as I had recently undergone knee surgery, giving me the lowest room on the 1st floor and arranging for my luggage to be taken to my room. Every whim was catered for and was often helped to cope with my disability, without being asked.
I had asked when booking on June 28, to have a quiet room but too bad, when we arrived we were informed that the hotel is full and that our request could not be accepted! Still for a reservation a month in advance, I think my request should have been honored! Given the location of the hotel in the middle of a roundabout, I suspected that the night would be noisy...not missed...! .. No air conditioning in the rooms, just a fan, a bit tight in the event of a heat wave! So we slept very badly... Apart from that, the catering is very satisfactory as well as the breakfast. I picked the Auberge de la Rose from an Internet search engine, and liked the different price options for the different types of room. I rarely pick the cheapest, or the most expensive, as, let's be honest, you spend most of the time in the room asleep. I found the welcome friendly, and the room clean and tidy. The bed was comfortable and the air con worked fine. We ate in the restaurant and I was very happy with the meal. The selection of wines was also very good. Breakfast in the morning was also good. Staff could speak English and were also polite enough to take time to understand my faltering French. Really happy to recommend this hotel.
If I had to be hyper critical, I would point out that the external walls of the building could do with a bit of a freshen up, but given it is on a roundabout it would be a thankless task trying to clean it with passing traffic leaving deposits.
